Oak Mountain Missions Ministries, Inc. is a 501c3, non-profit organization that demonstrates the love of Christ by providing food, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance to those in need in Shelby County and the greater Birmingham area.

What We Do

In brief, Oak Mountain Missions receives referrals from area churches, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, and social service agencies. Qualified support offered by Oak Mountain mission includes:  food, clothing, household items, linens, furniture, and limited financial assistance (for utility bills and medical expenses). Everything in our warehouse belongs to God, and is given to qualified, screened clients free of charge. In 2017, OMM served clients 6,120 times.

We receive donations from numerous businesses such as Edgars Bakeries, Golden Flake, Pepperidge Farm, Publix, Pizza Hut, and Little Caesars Pizza, and distribute food 4 days a week. Approximately 50,000 people per year benefit from charitable agencies donating food to OMM. 

How You Can help:

Founded in 2001, the need for assistance has grown each year with increasing requests for food, furniture, and financial help. Requests for assistance typically exceed available resources.  

•  Pray for Oak Mountain Missions
• Help us to provide our two most requested forms of support: food and financial assistance.     
• Hold drives for canned foods, diapers, or paper products.
• Donate usable furniture and working appliances. We always need dressers, kitchen tables & chairs, beds, sofas, stoves, refrigerators, and washers & dryers. We will pick up furniture & working appliances.
• Donate a used car. Having a car means a client can get and keep a job.
• Make a tax-deductable donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated
• Stock Gifting - OMM has a stock gifting account and will put your donated funds to great use. Contact the Mission for more details.
• Volunteer! Over 300 regular volunteers make this mission possible, with a total of 19,455 volunteer hours last year.
